Summer Programs

There are many programs for students to explore for summer adventure, education and fun.  We are starting to build our list of options for you to consider.  All are sponsored by independent companies and arrangements may be made directly with them.  See Naviance, Colleges page, "Enrichment" for a large list of nationwide Summer programs!

Summer Writing Programs 

Denison University - Reynolds Young Writers Workshop for students who wish to explore creative writing. Get one on one interaction with writes from The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and ASB Nation. This is a residential 8 day program with a cost of $1300. Financial support is available. Workshop dates: June 16-23, 2019. Go to: reynolds.denison.edu/

Lewis and Clark College (OR) is hosting "Fir Acres", a 2 week residential summer creative writing program for talented rising 10th, 11th and 12th graders. Amigos de las Americas! This organization inspires young leaders to realize their leadership potential through immersion in cross-cultural community development projects in Central and South America. Over the past few summers, several SRVHS students have participated in this program. You can learn more about their programs at on their website.

The Experiment in International Living - 34 Programs in 28 Countries! This organization offers 34 unique summer programs in 28 countries. Some of them include: US: Human Rights & College Discovery (history of civil rights); Brazil: Soccer and Social Change (develop soccer skills while learning how soccer influences education and community development), and many more. In addition, they offer 2 "Experiment Leadership Institute Programs": India: Public Health & Community Development; South Africa: Youth Leadership in Peace, Politics and Human Rights.
