Summer Programs

There are many programs for students to explore for summer adventure, education and fun.  We are starting to build our list of options for you to consider.  All are sponsored by independent companies and arrangements may be made directly with them.  See Naviance, Colleges page, "Enrichment" for a large list of nationwide Summer programs!  

SUMMER 2021

AI Summer Camp & Scholarship Opportunity.  Application Deadline for scholarship: March 21st, 2021

  • Learn AI in small classes in small batches - 6 students per instructor.
  • Build an impressive AI product for your college admission portfolio in the summer. 
  • Speak with at least 3 guest speakers from top AI companies such as Google and Facebook.
  • Experience various tech roles and learn how to make informed career decisions.
  • 3 weeks long program. A typical day starts at 10 am and finishes at 3 pm.
  • No coding experience is needed.
  • A virtual computer that allows students to program their products. 
  • Access to our learning center with all AI learning materials. 
  • Location: Online. ​​
  • Regular Tuition (without scholarship): $2,349.
  • Two scholarships: full scholarships and partial scholarships. Full scholarships you get to experience the program for free.

UC Santa Barbara Pre-College Programs | Research Mentorship Program (RMP)

  • Program Dates: June 20th - July 30th
  • Application Deadline: March 15th, 2021
  • UC Santa Barbara is excited to offer two virtual Pre-College Programs for high school students, in grades 9–11, during Summer 2021! Our programs allow participants to dive deep into an interdisciplinary subject while discovering new knowledge through university-level research. These transformative summer experiences help students get ahead academically while honing skills that prepare them to excel in higher education. We invite your students to learn and grow in a diverse and supportive virtual environment at one of the top research institutions in the country. In this immersive six-week program, students participate in ongoing, university-level research projects in STEM, Humanities, or Social Sciences under the guidance of a mentor. Available for grades 9-12.

 

UC Santa Barbara Pre-College Programs | Summer Research Academies (SRA)

  • Program Dates: June 27 – July 23, 2021
  • Application deadline: April 15, 2021
  • In this dynamic four-week program, students are introduced to the research enterprise through project-based, directed research in STEM, Humanities, and Social Sciences related fields. Students are admitted into one of the following research tracks based on their interests, and investigate a unique research question.

UC Davis | Young Scholars Program.  Program Dates: June 21st - July 31st, 2021

  • Interested in applying to UC Davis’ Summer Residential Research program that is designed to expose incoming juniors & seniors to natural sciences with an emphasis on biological, environmental, & agricultural sciences where students will work one-on-one with research faculty for 6 weeks. The deadline to apply is March 15th, 2021. 

NYU | Precollege Program. Program Dates: July 5th-August 13th, 2021

  • NYU Precollege gives rising juniors and seniors the unparalleled opportunity to spend their summer experiencing academics at NYU. For six dynamic weeks, high schoolers can take online college-level courses for credit, develop their essay-writing skills, and learn how to manage their time, all while connecting with NYU Precollege and undergraduate students from around the world.

Lawrence Livermore National Labs | Summer Programs 

  • Given the current health crisis, the Laboratory is not hosting any onsite opportunities for high school students this summer. However, we do plan to offer a virtual program in bioinformatics in late July. This is the bioinformatics portion of the Biotechnology Summer Experience. I don’t have any additional information yet, but it will be on the Science Education website in early spring, education.llnl.gov

  • Denison University - Reynolds Young Writers Workshop for students who wish to explore creative writing. Get one on one interaction with writes from The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and ASB Nation. This is a residential 8 day program.  Workshop dates: June 21-28, 2020 and application opens Jan. 6, 2020.  Visit the Denison University website to apply!  Open to rising 11th and 12th graders only.   

  • Lewis and Clark College (OR) is hosting "Fir Acres", a 2 week residential summer creative writing program for talented rising 10th, 11th and 12th graders. Priority application deadline is Jan. 1, 2020. Visit the Lewis and Clark College website for more info and to apply! Open to current 9th, 10th and 11th graders

  • U Penn Summer Programs:  Penn delivers the challenge of an Ivy League curriculum to academically talented high school students seeking a pre-collegiate experience. Explore Penn's historic campus, engage with leading faculty, and build intellectual connections within accelerated two-, three-, or six-week Penn Summer High School Programs.  (2/2020)

  • Summer Courses Inspired by the World-Famous Universities of Oxford and CambridgeEach summer, motivated students from across the globe join Oxford Royale Summer Schools' award-winning Summer Schools. Throughout the duration of their courses, participants have the opportunity to explore and discuss their chosen subjects in great detail, be taught by ORA’s experienced and passionate faculty, and to live and study in top educational institutions across the UK. In 2020, Oxford Royale Summer Schools will be running Summer School programmes in the UK's top three universities - the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge and Imperial College London - as well as prestigious academic centres in England and Scotland.   • Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies:  There are summer programs for all grades on the Stanford University campus.   (2/2020)

  • UC Berkeley Academic Talent Development Program:  High School enrichment summer courses offered through the Education Department at UC Berkeley.  Apply by 2/5/20 (early) or 3/4/20 (regular). 2020.  (2/2020)

  • Summer Business Programs at UC Berkeley. Summer Internships/Externships and residential pre-college programs.    

  • Columbia University Summer Immersion Program in New York City for High School Students.

  • The Carnegie Mellon Pre-College programs provide learning and development opportunities for high school students both inside and outside of the classroom.   Our Pre-College program, which mirrors the undergraduate experience, gives rising juniors and seniors the opportunity to explore their interests while receiving instruction from acclaimed Carnegie Mellon faculty and staff.

  • Marist Pre-College.  Earn college credit while in high school.  Get a taste for living on a college campus.  Marist College in New York is offering 2 week courses in two sessions:  June 28-July 11 or July 12-July 25 for residential experiences.  Learn about Business, Criminal Justice, Film and TV production, Pre-health Pre-Law and MUCH MORE! Visit Marist Pre-College for more information and to apply.

  • West Point Summer Leadership Experience (for juniors/rising seniors).   Get a better understanding of the academic opportunities at a military academy.  Over 40% of participants enter a military academy the following year.  Apply by March 15, 2020!
