Wecome Back, Wolves

Hello Wolves and Welcome to a year that  NONE of us expected!!  Do you remember the “I survived…..” book series by Lauren Tarsish?  Well, one of my 3 son's favorites was the “I survived the Shark Attacks of 1916”.  So which SRV student will be the one to write…..

“ I SURVIVED THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC OF 2020”, author???? Alumni SRV...

I have seen some of my students do some amazing things, and certainly becoming authors is one of my favorites.

In case you do not know me, I am Mrs. Iglesias, the support counselor at SRV, I worked in the Confidence Lab while we were on campus.  I am reaching out to you to because I want you to know that I am here for you!  Sometimes it is helpful to have someone to bounce your ideas off of, and sometimes students need some extra support.  Whatever the reason, I am an email away for an appointment.

Students please email me  at, or reply to this email.

Kind Regards,

Mrs. Iglesias

Referral for Student Support for parents

Hello Parents, welcome back to school, or rather virtual school.  As we return, we remain in unprecedented times, and if one thing is clear, all persons of all backgrounds have been effected in some way by the COVID-19 pandemic.

If there ever was a time to come together, support one another and be each other’s fan base, it is now!  More and more people are feeling anxious and distressed.  This is quite expected considering the prolonged shelter in place and continuing communication of new norms that we are enduring.

As a committed stakeholder to our SRV community, I too feel compelled to be a provider and a support of emotional health in our school and for our children.  All of our students are unique, and will therefore continue to experience this pandemic uniquely.  It is my desire to work with students and to support them as individuals and to be a connection outside of their immediate bubble.

As the Fall begins I am contacting you to offer my support.  I will begin meeting with students virtually soon, and I want to remind our families that I am taking social emotional referrals for new students.  I am happy to set up meetings with student and parents as well.  Partnering with families is invaluable.

Please feel free to email me with questions and I look forward to working with your student as we come out of this pandemic season stronger than before!

SRV Strong!

Kind Regards,

Connie Iglesias, MA, PPS

What is the best part of your job:  The best part of my job is being able to work with the future generations of America and help to support them create and reach their goals.  I am thankful that I get to be a part of this journey.

Tips for success:  Look for the silver lining, stay positive and stay organized.  Reach out for help when the need arises and be willing to participate in clubs and school activities to meet new people, and broaden your SRV experience.

Tell us something about you: I played 3 sports in college.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our 3 sons.  I grew up on the coast, so I enjoy all that the beach has to offer minus the sharks.
